City boss Mark Hughes has confirmed he is still interested in Samuel Eto'o and Carlos Tevez but doesn't expect a quick resolution.
Cameroonian international Eto'o is in talks with current club Barcelona about a contract extension but the player's agent, Josep Maria Mesalles, insists a deal with City could still be done if Barca fail to meet his demands.
"We have made an offer but there appears to be a situation between the player and his club that we cannot be part of," Hughes told the Manchester Evening News.
"We just have to sit back and see what develops. Patience is a word that has been mentioned and we may need some of it."
Former Manchester United striker Tevez is another known target for the City boss but it seems as if the Eastlands side are no closer to securing the talented Argentine's services.
"I am a huge admirer of Carlos," Hughes added.
"Everyone is aware of his situation and we are interested, as we are in all top quality players.
"We will have to see what happens but these are very early days."
Eto'o has just a year left on his current deal at the Nou Camp and it is thought a fee of around £25million would be enough to persuade the Catalan giants to cash in on the gifted frontman, a similar fee could be enough for City to sign Tevez.
