However, a Blues spokesman has poured cold water on the speculation by telling the Telegraph:: "At no time has any Manchester City offical, or anybody representing the club, contacted Fernando Torres, his representatives or Liverpool Football Club."
Meanwhile, Brazil international striker Ronaldo admits he has yet to make a decision over his future as he plots his return from a knee injury, with City linked as well as PSG.
He told Gazzetta dello Sport: "Paris is a city that I love and they have a great project to win the league title.
"However, at (Manchester) City I have Robinho, who is a great friend of mine. But we will see, in the past few days we have spoken.
"For the time being, my only aim is to return to playing, the rest will follow."
