Manchester City technical scout Angelo Gregucci saw target Erik Lamela score a spectacular volley for Roma against Siena on Sunday.
Roberto Mancini's spy was at the Olimpico for Roma's 4-0 win just 24 hours after watching Udinese forward Luis Muriel play in his side's win at Cagliari.
But the Colombian, who has scored eight Serie A goals in 12 starts this season, only played around 40 minutes of the 1-0 win after appearing from the bench.
Gregucci got a much better look at Lamela, 21, who scored and made one of team-mate Pablo Daniel Osvaldo's hat-trick.
Osvaldo, an Argentina-born Italy international, opened the scoring after 14 minutes when he exchanged passes with Lamela to carve the Siena defence apart before delicately chipping the on-rushing goalkeeper.
A minute later Lamela made it 2-0 as he watched a Francesco Totti ball over the top onto his left foot before thumping a fantastic first time low volley into the near bottom corner.
The Argentina winger, who plays on the right hand side for Roma, has also been watched by Manchester United recently and is said to be worth £20million.
