Manchester City are believed to be ready to increase their offer for Everton defender Joleon Lescott, who could cost £20million.
It has been reported that Everton would be willing to do business at around £20million after turning down City's original offer, said to be £15million.
The former Wolves defender is said to be keen on a summer switch to Eastlands, where he would reportedly double his weekly wages to £80,000 a week.
The ball now appears to be in City's court as Mark Hughes ponders an increased offer for the player which would get the ball rolling.
In three seasons at Goodison Park, Lescott has made 111 appearances for the club and has forced his way onto the international stage, making six appearances for England.
