Manchester City are reportedly planning a £40million summer move for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
Suarez pledged to remain at Anfield even if the Reds miss out on Champions League football this season earlier this week, as he insisted "I have a contract with Liverpool and I am very happy here".
City boss Roberto Mancini, however, is reportedly ready to test Suarez's loyalty and is plotting a summer swoop for the Uruguay forward.
The Etihad Stadium side sold Mario Balotelli to AC Milan in January and didn't secure a replacement, while there is also speculation Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko could be moved on in the summer.
Mancini admits he is a big fan of the Liverpool striker but remained guarded over any potential transfer talk.
"Luis Suarez plays for Liverpool and is strong," said the City boss.
Mancini will certainly be in the market for at least one forward in the summer but it remains to be seen whether or not he will move for Suarez, with reports suggesting City are lining up a £40million move for the striker.
Liverpool have no intention of cashing in on their star striker, who has also been linked with Bayern Munich, but boss Brendan Rodgers could face a battle to keep hold of the in-form frontman at the end of the campaign.
