City's 'Big Phil' problem

Man CityCity boss Mark Hughes has made Felipe Caicedo available on loan after a move to Hertha Berlin collapsed on Monday.

The Ecuador international striker has struggled to find the net since he became Sven-Goran Eriksson's last signing arriving in January and Hughes no longer has room for the 19-year-old after signing Jo Alves.

Caceido was on the verge of a move to Germany with Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin on transfer deadline day but it fell through with only an hour remaining when Hertha instead moved for Liverpool's out-of-favour Ukrainian Andrei Voronin.

Hughes does not want to keep an unhappy player and says he will let the youngster go out on loan if a suitable offer comes in.

"We may look at a loan situation for Felipe again," confirmed Hughes.

"There was a deal for him to join Hertha Berlin but in the last hour, they decided to go elsewhere."
