Fernando Gago's agent has launched a blistering attack on Man City saying they "used the player" after failing to land him from Real.
City reportedly made an enquiry for Gago last week and at one point it looked like the Argentinian ace was going to seal a late transfer to Eastlands with the window set to close.
However, no deal was struck and now the player's agent, Marcello Lombilla, has blasted City for the way they handled the whole situation.
"City used us," Gago's agent told radio station Onda Cero. "This has never happened to me before.
"I don't want to talk about the figures that City were offering because they approached Madrid without even knowing there wasn't physically enough time to put something together."
Real Madrid's sporting director Jorge Valdano was also dismayed by City's antics over Gago as he told El Pais: "They had nothing prepared, not even one document signed.
"They had not reached an agreement with the player and they would have had to have done everything in 40 minutes."
