Olympiakos are leading the chase to sign Manchester City centre-back Dedryk Boyata who looks set to turn down the offer of a new deal.

The Greek champions, who signed ex-City midfielder Abdisalem Ibrahim in January after he was released by the club, are keen on picking up the Belgian on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Boyata was offered a new deal by City but wants to move to play on a regular basis after failing to make the breakthrough at the Etihad Stadium.

City boss Manuel Pellegrini promised Boyata chances when he took over from Roberto Mancini but the 23-year-old has made only one Premier League start and four cup appearances this season.

Olympiakos are also set to sign KV Mechelen's Belgian midfielder Jonathan Legear on a free transfer this summer.
