Hughes reveals Boj return hopes

Man CityMan City striker Valeri Bojinov will miss the Uefa Cup qualifier against EB/Streymur with a thigh strain but may return at the weekend.

The Bulgaria international missed the majority of last season with a cruciate knee ligament injury suffered against Manchester United but is now being hampered by a minor niggle.

Boss Mark Hughes will not risk the 22-year-old against the Faroe Island minnows at Oakwell even though he is also without Benjani (thigh) and Jo (international duty). Bojinov might be ready to face Stockport in a friendly on Saturday at Edgeley Park.

"Bojinov is closer to getting a run-out, he won't be involved tonight but hopefully he will be against Stockport at the weekend," Hughes told the club's website.

City have a two-goal cushion from the first leg a fortnight ago.
