Aleksandar Kolarov will face no police action after he was accused of racially abusing a fan holding an Albania flag at Newcastle.

Manchester City's Serbian defender was the subject of a complaint from two Albanian home supporters after City's 3-1 win at St James' Park in December.

Northumbria Police launched an investigation following the Blues victory but that police probe has now been concluded and has found that Kolarov has no case to answer.

Kolarov was accused of making a remark as he was warming up on the touchline prior to coming on as a substitute.

A spokesman for the force confirmed they would not be taking further action.
