Lescott still on Besiktas radar

Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott remains a transfer target for Besiktas, according to sporting director Onder Ozen.

Besiktas expressed an interest in the former Everton and Wolves man during the January transfer window, only to be turned away.

However, with the England international set to be out of contract at the end of the season, and City expected to look elsewhere for reinforcements at the back, he could be on the move across Europe.

The 31-year-old has played a bit-part role under new boss Manuel Pellegrini this term with Vincent Kompany and Martin Demichelis preferred ahead of him.

Ozen said: "Lescott is still on our transfer wish list.

"Everything will become clear at the end of the season, players will be leaving and arriving but I don't want to disclose too much information yet."
