Manchester City defender Gael Clichy believes under pressure manager Roberto Mancini is the right man to take the club forward.

The defending champions currently find themselves 12 points adrift of their table topping rivals Manchester United, with the race for the title looking all but certain to be heading to Old Trafford this term.

City being so far behind the Red Devils in the Premier League this season has raised questions about Mancini's position at the Etihad Stadium, with the likes of Malaga boss Manuel Pellegrini being linked with a move to the Citizens in the summer.

Clichy is a firm believer that Mancini is still the man to take City, who you can back using your free bet, forward ahead of a crucial game against Chelsea in the north west on Sunday.

The French international told The Sun: "Only time will tell whether the club decides to sack him or keep him, but he's doing well.

"It's the people above who decide - but I believe he can take us higher.

"He's the one who brought me here. Of course I'd like to see him stay. As a player you want to give your best for a manager like him."
