AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has dismissed suggestions a swap deal could be on the cards involving Pato and Mario Balotelli.

Berlusconi is known to be a big fan of Manchester City striker Balotelli, who is constantly being linked with a return to Milan, but if a deal is to happen it will not involve Pato.

The Italian giants have no intention of letting the Brazilian go and if Balotelli is to join Milan it will have to include another player or a straight cash deal.

"An exchange involving Pato and Balotelli? I don't like exchanges," he revealed. "Pato is definitely not on the market. He is one of our best players and has the opportunity to become an icon here over many years.

"Unfortunately, his frequent injuries have been a problem, but we just need to handle him right. AC Milan is the perfect setting for him."
