James Milner says he is happy with Manchester City and is ready to grab his chance in the first team when the opportunity arises.
The midfielder impressed in pre-season but has yet to start a game since the Premier League got underway and first-team appearances could be limited in the forthcoming campaign.
However Milner accepts he has to battle for his place at the Etihad Stadium due to the amount of quality there is in the City squad, but will take his chance when it comes.
"Every player wants to play," he revealed. "I'm lucky to be at a massive club like City and there's a lot of competition for places. That will only make me a better player.
"With the amount of games we've got coming up, I'm sure I'll get a lot of games this season. Then it's down to me to perform in those games. The team is the most important thing.
"You want to contribute and play all the time but as long as you're winning games, that's all that matters."
