No fancy for Nancy star

Man CityNancy defender Michael Chretien has claimed he rejected a move to Manchester City to secure a move to Real Betis.

The Morocco international came close to joining Sevilla in June but is now determined to move to his number one destination, although he revealed he passed up the chance to switch to Eastlands.

"I want to play for Betis and I'm hopeful they'll accept the offer," the 24-year-old right-back told ABC.

"I told Nancy so on Friday. I'm aware of the fact there's still an economic issue to sort between both clubs, but Nancy understand a very important opportunity is being given to me.

"I was very close to signing with Sevilla and at the end it didn't happen because they didn't find an agreement.

"My club have told me they were waiting for an offer from Manchester City, but I want to play in Spain.

"It's nothing against Manchester City, I want to play for Betis and that's what I told my club. I can't wait."
