Manuel Pellegrini will reportedly return to Malaga to try and entice goalkeeper Willy Caballero to join Manchester City in January.
City's Chilean tactician was linked with a swoop for the 32-year-old Argentinian shot-stopper during the summer transfer window as he wanted to bring in some serious competition to current number one Joe Hart.
At the time Caballero snubbed the chance to be reunited with Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium, but he has since gone on to struggle for first-team football at Malaga this season under current chief Bernd Schuster.
And with Hart struggling for form at City, it is being reported in Spanish daily Marca that Pellegrini will return to make a renewed effort to sign Caballero when the transfer window opens for business in January.
The player has a 20 million euros release clause but the report claims City will try and secure his services for a quarter of that.
