Manchester City have missed out on the signing of Isco after Real Madrid confirmed the Malaga star will sign for them next week.
City were keen to strike a deal for the Spanish ace but he has turned down the chance to link up with Manuel Pellegrini again in favour of a move to the Bernabeu.
Isco is reported to have agreed a five-year deal with the option of a sixth year and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez says the player will be unveiled next week, news which is sure to disappoint City.
"There is an agreement with the club [Malaga] and the player," Perez told national Spanish radio station RNE. "Isco will be presented next week, all he needs is to overcome the medical examination."
Isco will be Real's third signing of the summer following the arrivals of Dani Carvajal and Casemiro.
