Italian giants Roma are being linked with a swoop for Manchester City defender Micah Richards, who is struggling for action.
Richards hardly figured for City last season and things have not improved in this campaign either despite the arrival of new boss Manuel Pellegrini in the summer.
The defender has been unable to dislodge Pablo Zabaleta at right-back and with the World Cup just around the corner he is keen to play regular first-team football to boost his chances of going to Brazil, should England seal qualification.
Reports in Italy claim that Roma want to sign a new right-back in the January transfer window and have identified Richards as one of their top targets.
Nicolas Burdisso is heading for the exit door and Roma are keen to replace him with Richards, who has also been linked with Inter Milan and Newcastle.
