Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini is due to hold talks with Manchester City over deals for Maicon and Pablo Osvaldo tonight.
The Serie A club's transfer negotiator is flying to England for talks with three clubs, but has made Manchester City his priority as Roma need to offload their Argentina-born Italian international before they can buy.
City have registered their interest in the 27-year-old, who has scored 27 Serie A goals in two seasons in Rome, following his £14.5million move from Espanyol - where he had scored 20 goals the season before.
Roma are keen on taking Maicon back to Italy, but will find his reported £100,000-a-week wages tough to take on board without City or the player helping out.
However, the Brazilian says he is happy at the club and willing to stay for the rest of his contract.
Roma are also keen on another Brazilian full-back, Wallace, who is owned by Chelsea but could be available for a loan deal next season.
They are due to hold talks with the Blues over Wallace and midfielder Daniele De Rossi next week, while Sabatini must also fit in time for a meeting with Manchester United officials over Nani.
