Manchester City have been told there is interest from Roma in Maicon, although the Brazilian seems to content to stay at the club.
Roma are keen to take the attacking full-back back to Serie A, where he was a star for several seasons with Inter before City signed him last August for £3million.
Maicon made just eleven appearances in total in his first season which was dogged by injury, but the 31-year-old is happy in Manchester where he is said to earn £100,000-a-week wages.
Roma could not afford that kind of contract but they are interested in the player after being given encouragement by City, who want to reduce their wage bill.
Sources in Italy claim that Maicon's 'stock has risen' in the Eternal City and that a formal approach could be made this week.
