City striker Craig Bellamy is free to play against Fulham in the Carling Cup tonight after avoiding an FA charge .
Bellamy faced the prospect of a fine and possible three-match ban after clashing with a fan after Manchester United's Michael Owen scored a last-minute winner in City's 4-3 defeat to their arch rivals on Sunday.
The FA held an immediate inquiry into events at Old Trafford but decided to only warn the Welsh striker about his future conduct after referee Martin Atkinson revealed in his match report that he would not have sent off Bellamy if he had seen the incident at the time.
An FA statement said: "The FA has warned both Manchester City's Craig Bellamy and Manchester United's Gary Neville following separate incidents in Sunday's fixture at Old Trafford.
"Craig Bellamy will be contacted by the FA and warned about his future conduct."
City manager Mark Hughes has no fresh injury worries, although he may rest Carlos Tevez which could mean a first start of the season for Martin Petrov.
Robinho is still at least three weeks away from a return from a stress fracture of his ankle while Roque Santa Cruz is unlikely to figure despite making a return to training after knee surgery.
