Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell has emerged as a target for Sunderland, while Everton are also keen.

Rodwell moved to the Etihad Stadium in a £12million deal from Everton in August 2012 but has failed to establish himself in the City side and has been tipped to move on this summer.

The 23-year-old still has three years left on his current deal with City and it is thought that the Premier League champions are open to a season-long loan move for Rodwell, while a permanent exit is also a possibility.

Everton have been credited with an interest but the latest reports suggest Premier League rivals Sunderland are ready to rival the Merseyside outfit for Rodwell's services.
