Fiorentina hit-man Stevan Jovetic has been advised to sign for Manchester City - by former City defender Stefan Savic.
Montenegro defender Savic made 21 appearances in all competitions for City last season, picking up a Premier League winners medal in the process.
However, he was then used as a makeweight in a summer deal to bring Matija Nastasic from Fiorentina to the Etihad Stadium, meaning a link-up with international team-mate Jovetic at the Serie A outfit.
Jovetic has been heavily linked with a move away from La Viola in the summer, with Arsenal believed to be frontrunners for the 23-year-old.
However, Savic believes the former Partizan youngster would be better off signing for Roberto Mancini's men as they have a greater chance of regularly winning silverware.
"They are a rising team, one of the best clubs in Europe," said Savic. "They will win trophies and be in the Champions League every year.
"It was hard for me there because I came straight from the Serbian league. I won a league title but knew I had to play regularly to improve, so I left - it was my decision.
"It is different for Stevan. He has five years' experience and could play straight away with Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez."
