Yaya Toure will return to the Manchester City line-up for the trip to Southampton, but captain Vincent Kompany remains a doubt.

Toure, and brother Kolo, are back at City earlier than expected after Ivory Coast failed to get past the last eight of the African Cup of Nations.

Kompany (calf) could also make his comeback if he comes through a fitness test in training as the Blues look to end a run of two successive draws.

Edin Dzeko looks set to start up front with Sergio Aguero, while Toure is expected to come into midfield alongside James Milner, David Silva and Gareth Barry with Javi Garcia dropping out.
