Yaya Toure is set to miss City's Premier League clash with West Brom as a precaution ahead of Saturday's FA Cup final.
Boss Roberto Mancini, who rested striker Carlos Tevez on Saturday by dropping him to the bench for the Swansea match, is set to shuffle his pack further for the visit of the Baggies.
Toure was withdrawn at half-time at the Liberty Stadium with 'muscle fatigue' but is not thought to be a doubt for the clash with Wigan Athletic at Wembley.
Joe Hart will play as Mancini rests several players for Saturday's game but the England keeper has been told he will not start at Wembley.
Apart from Toure and Scott Sinclair, who is out with a blood clot, Mancini has a virtually fully-fit squad to choose from.
