Vincent Kompany, Sergio Aguero and Jack Rodwell are all set to miss Manchester City's FA Cup quarter-final against Barnsley.

Club skipper Kompany is unlikely to be risked as he battles to overcome a calf problem - his third in less than a year.

The former Anderlecht and Hamburg star has not featured since suffering the latest setback playing at Stoke City in the fourth round of the Cup in January.

City assistant boss David Platt has admitted there is concern at the club because it is not a "fresh injury".

Boss Roberto Mancini has already publicly ruled Aguero out of the tie as he suffers with a knee problem while Rodwell is likely to be out of a month because of a hamstring pull against Aston Villa on Monday.

Kolo Toure and Matija Nastasic look set to continue their partnership at the back while Costel Pantilimon may again deputise for Joe Hart, as he has done in the FA Cup this season.
