Manchester City will not move for Valencia defender Adil Rami in the New Year after he agreed to join AC Milan on loan from January.
The 27-year-old central defender had been linked with a switch to City in the next transfer window after he fell out with senior officials at his Spanish club.
But Spanish newspaper AS have now reported that the Frenchman has reached an agreement today to join the San Siro giants on loan when the transfer window re-opens.
The player has accepting the deal while Milan are also understood to have agreed Valencia's request to take on Rami's full salary from the start of January through to the end of the season.
The Serie A club have also agreed to a £6m purchase option to then make the deal permanent next summer on a four-year contract.
Rami, who was suspended by Valencia for one week without pay after publicly criticising his coach and team-mates, will leave the Mestalla immediately, but Milan won't start paying him until January.
