Manchester United boss Sir Alex Feguson plans to give son Darren another player on loan with Matty James set to join Preston.

The England Under-20 international is highly thought of at Old Trafford but Ferguson senior wants the youngster to get some first-team action under his belt and will offer him to son Darren at Deepdale.

If the deal goes through until the end of the season, James will follow in the footsteps of Danny Welbeck, who made a similar move before the closure of the transfer deadline on Monday.
