Barcelona have played down speculation linking Thiago Alcantara with a move to Manchester United or anywhere else.
The Catalan giants are adamant they haven't received an official approach for the 22-year-old despite reported interest from United and Bayern Munich this summer.
Alcantara is believed to be keen on a switch away from the Nou Camp as he wants more guaranteed first-team football after playing a starring role for Spain's Under-21 side during their recent success in the European Championships.
The midfielder is scheduled to return to Barca shortly for pre-season training, but reports are emerging claiming a meeting took place yesterday between the club's sporting director, Andoni Zubizarreta, and his father and agent, the former Brazil international Mazinho.
Would-be suitors are now being urged to firm up their interest quickly as the Spanish champions want his future resolving within the next fortnight, with a buyout clause of just over £15m automatically activated once that figure is met.
