Man Utd look set to miss out on Holland star Arjen Robben because he is set to join Bayern Munich, according to reports.

The 25-year-old former Chelsea winger was linked with a switch to Old Trafford following Real Madrid's massive summer transfer outlay but it appears he will now pitch up at the Bavarian giants.

£22m-rated Robben has seen his place threatened at the Bernabeu by the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Kaka.

Liverpool have also been linked but they would be highly unlikely to be able to finance the deal.
