Manchester United defender Alexander Buttner wants to join Turkish giants Besiktas, according to his agent.
The full-back's representative, Aleksander Bursac, has been quoted as saying that the United man remains unsettled at Old Trafford and is keen on a move away after struggling to force his way into the first-team squad on a regular basis last season.
The arrival of new boss David Moyes does not appear to have altered his situation much and there were claims he was in talks over a move to Benfica recently.
However, Bursac says the Portuguese giants' interest has waned but a switch to Besiktas could be in the pipeline.
"Buttner has wanted to join Besiktas from the beginning," Bursac said. "Buttner has been watching the Turkish league and Besiktas closely, he was really impressed by the Besiktas supporters and knows the club's history.
"He also believes the Turkish league is growing in stature following Galatasaray's run in the Champions League."
On the reported interest from Benfica, the agent added on Renascenca Radio: "I am currently negotiating with Besiktas, but with Benfica? No. Benfica showed interest and then gave up."
Buttner, 24, joined United for just over £3million from Vitesse last season but made just five Premier League appearances.
