Sir Alex Ferguson is looking forward to "a big few weeks" in Manchester United's season and backed his players to deliver the results.
The Reds have a massive Premier League game at Aston Villa on Wednesday, before a tricky trip to Everton with a Champions League last 16 tie against AC Milan at the San Siro squeezed in between. An Old Trafford clash with struggling West Ham in the league will be followed by a trip to Wembley for the Carling Cup final against Aston Villa at the end of February.
Ferguson is relishing some huge games which could shape the side's season on three fronts and feels his players will not disappoint him.
He told the club's website: "We've got an important period coming up and we've got to keep the momentum going.
"We go to Villa Park on Wednesday, then to Milan and Everton and we've got the Carling Cup final as well. So we've got a big few weeks coming up where consistency and form is going to be very important.
"Historically we've always grasped the nettle at this time of year and the players realise there is a lot at stake and they can't afford inconsistency."
