Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly keeping tabs on Juventus' 19-year-old Ghanaian starlet Richmond Boakye.

The Red Devils chief appears to have been alerted by the progress being made by the teenage forward, who impressed with Serie B side Sassuolo last term with 12 goals in 34 league games while on loan from Genoa.

Serie A champions Juventus took Boakye to Turin this past summer and immediately sent him back out on loan to Sassuolo for a second season.

But reports claim Ferguson is now poised to make a move to sign the youngster, who has one international cap for Ghana after he featured in a friendly against China in August, and add him to the youth ranks at Old Trafford as a player for the future.

However, it is not known if Juventus would be keen to lose Boakye before he even has a chance to play a competitive game for them.
