Phil Jones will return in Manchester United's Champions League trip to Galatasaray as Sir Alex Ferguson will make several changes.
The 20-year-old defender has endured a frustrating season to date after a summer back problem was followed up by a knee injury which has kept him on the sidelines.
However Ferguson is planning to pitch Jones back into action for the group game as the pressure is off United as they have qualified for the knockout stage with two games remaining thanks to four successive wins.
"It's a big day for Phil Jones," said Ferguson. "He's been out all season but has done enough training to make sure his fitness is okay.
"They've all been different types of injuries and because he is young, he's still to develop physically.
"He's only 20 years of age so there's plenty of time for him."
Meanwhile, Jones is set to be partnered by Scott Wootton in central defence as Rio Ferdinand and Chris Smalling are being rested as Ferguson has taken only six players to Turkey who featured in Saturday's surprise 1-0 defeat at Norwich.
Nani, Shinji Kagawa and Jonny Evans are unavailable because of respective hamstring, knee and groin problems.
Despite a young looking squad travelling for the Group H clash, Ferguson is confident United have enough experience to cope with the intimidating atmosphere.
"Most of them will have experience of big games and big crowds," added Ferguson.
"Obviously for Nick Powell it's completely different - he's played in front of 76,000 as a substitute but this will be his first European away game.
"It will be a big day for him but he has the temperament, which is important."
