A Manchester United spokesman has said Ryan Giggs "is absolutely fuming" at reports that he has had a bust-up with boss David Moyes.
It was suggested that the 40-year-old veteran Welshman, who was left out of the United squad for Sunday's disastrous 3-0 home defeat against Liverpool, had a falling out with Moyes over his extended defensive training methods.
However the club have moved swiftly to dampen the increasing speculation about Giggs' place on Moyes' coaching staff by insisting that the player, who has played 960 times for the club, is not happy about the reports circulating.
A spokesman said: "Ryan is absolutely fuming over suggestions of a falling-out with the manager," before adding that the claims were "total and utter rubbish."
The rumours about a fall-out with Giggs are the least of Moyes' worries with reports this week suggesting that he has now lost key members in the United boardroom and could be three games away from being axed if results do not improve.
Therefore Wednesday's Champions League last-16 second leg against Olympiakos could be crucial for the Scot as United look to overhaul a 2-0 first leg deficit to progress to the quarter-finals.
