Freiburg defender Matthias Ginter is happy to be linked with Manchester United but is only focused on his club's Bundesliga safety bid.
The 20-year-old Germany Under-21 international has plenty of experience in the Bundesliga, having made almost 60 appearances for his club side, and that has alerted Red Devils boss David Moyes.
United sent scouts to watch Ginter, who has been included in Germany's senior squad for Wednesday's friendly with Chile, in last Friday's goalless draw against Hertha Berlin.
And it appears likely that Moyes could trigger his £7.2million release clause in the summer as he aims to replace the outgoing Nemanja Vidic and ageing Rio Ferdinand at Old Trafford.
Ginter is naturally flattered by the interest shown in him by United, but his immediate aim is to ensure Freiburg stay in the German top flight beyond this season.
He said: "If it is true, I am of course honoured and excited. On the other hand, there is still a long way to the summer."
Meanwhile, PSV Eindhoven's Colombian international right-back Santiago Arias has also been linked with a move to United and was also reportedly watched by scouts.
