Nemanja Vidic's Manchester United career looks set to end this summer with the defender set to join Inter Milan.
Vidic is one of several senior United players who are being tipped to move on at the end of the season as boss David Moyes looks set to instigate a wide-ranging overhaul of the Old Trafford squad.
Vidic has been linked with several clubs abroad but it is Serie A giants Inter who are leading the race to sign the centre-back, who will become a free agent when his current deal expires in June.
His agent, Silvano Martina, has confirmed Inter have been in touch about a deal but the move is yet to be finalised.
Martina told InterLive.it: "The Nerazzurri have shown only an interest for my client, at least for now."
Vidic has been at United since 2006 but at 32 he was only ever going to be offered a new one-year contract at best at the end of the season, although he has so far failed to negotiate even that and does look set to move on in the summer.
Inter are looking for a replacement for veteran defender Christian Chivu, who has hinted he will retire at the end of the current campaign and Vidic could be the ideal man to come in in his place.
