Keeper's brief return on cards

Man UtdMan Utd keeper Edwin van der Sar's international comeback is set to last just two games after answering an SOS from Holland.

The 128-cap veteran called time on his days at the highest level after Euro 2008 but has been drafted back in by new coach Bert van Marwijk's squad with Maarten Stekelenburg out for six weeks.

Van der Sar is set to face Iceland and Norway before bowing out again to concentrate on his final season with the Red Devils.

He told Algemeen Dagblad: "I had retired from international football for a good reason, but on the other hand, Holland are still my team and it feels good if you can help when there is a problem.

"I would have been in the stands as a spectator against Iceland, in any case, so to go from being a fan to being a player is not that big a jump."
