Wayne Rooney and David de Gea both trained with United on Monday ahead of their Champions League trip to Turkey to face Galatasaray.

Rooney missed the weekend defeat to Norwich with tonsillitis while De Gea was absent having had wisdom teeth removed.

However, midfielders Shinji Kagawa and Nani and defender Jonny Evans - who have been struggling with knee, hamstring and groin injuries respectively - were all absent for the first 15 minutes of the session which was open to the media.

Watching manager Sir Alex Ferguson is likely to give a number of players a rest as United have already won their group to ensure progress to the knock-out stage.
