David Moyes claims Everton boss Roberto Martinez should allow Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini to join Manchester United.
The Red Devils boss has returned to his former club this summer to try and bolster his Old Trafford squad with England international left-back, Baines, and Belgium international midfielder, Fellaini.
An initial £28million for the duo was immediately rebuffed by the Toffees who described it as "derisory".
United now look set to return with a higher offer in the region of £35million before the transfer window closes on September 2. And Moyes claims that if he was still in charge at Goodison Park and former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson approached him about the duo, he would find it hard to keep them on Merseyside.
"I definitely (have sympathy for Martinez)," Moyes told reporters.
"But I also know if I had been Everton manager and Sir Alex had come asking for Baines and Fellaini I'd have found it very difficult to keep them.
"I always thought the right thing to do was the right thing for players."
