Manchester United transfer target Thomas Muller has signed a new contract at Bayern Munich that ties him to the club until 2019.
The German champions have also confirmed that captain Philipp Lahm has also agreed to extend his stay until the summer of 2018.
United boss Louis van Gaal had been keen on signing Muller this summer after the attacking midfielder told a German magazine earlier this month that he had reached a point in his career where he needed to be sure of his first-team status.
Van Gaal handed the 24-year-old German international his Bayern Munich debut during his two-year spell in charge of the Bavarian club.
But Muller has now put an end to speculation the Reds were preparing a £25million bid, by putting pen to paper on a new contract at the Allianz Arena.
