Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller will reportedly look to be reunited with Louis van Gaal if he takes over the Manchester United job.
German newspaper Bild is claiming that the 24-year-old German international striker is looking for a move away from the Bundesliga champions having spent an increasing amount of time on the substitutes' bench at the Allianz Arena under boss Pep Guardiola this season.
And with Dutch tactician Van Gaal, who brought Muller into the Bayern side as a 19-year-old back in the 2009-10 season, seemingly set to take over at Old Trafford in the summer, the duo could be reunited during the transfer window.
Van Gaal has spoken of his admiration for Muller, who described the 62-year-old as "a genius technician", who makes players "improve every time".
Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has responded to the report by hinting that Muller could be allowed to leave, despite being under contract at the club until summer 2017.
"Muller's situation? If a player does not feel well at Bayern Munich, he should come to my office," Rummenigge told Bild.
"We will have to talk about things like that."
