However, Van Basten has said that the club have received no bids for the prolific goalscorer.
Van Basten said: "And I hope that we don't receive them."
Van Basten praised the Ajax youth system but admitted that it was hard stopping young Dutch players leaving for the bigger European leagues.
He said: "It's difficult to keep them. I think we have a good youth system, which is very important to Ajax, but it's been like this for the last 25 years."
Van Basten, who played for Ajax for five seasons before moving to AC Milan, criticised the modern trend of clubs buying players at younger ages.
He said: "If they go after playing for five years in the first team of Ajax, that is OK. But now they are going at the age of 18 or 19 and that is too quick."
