Nick Powell, Phil Jones and Alex Buttner are set to start when Manchester United face Cluj in their final Champions League group game.

Powell did not travel to Reading on Saturday but trained with the squad yesterday and should come in alongside Tom Cleverley in midfield.

The 18-year-old former Crewe Alexandra starlet started United's last Champions League match against Galatasaray in Turkey and did well when he came on against QPR recently.

Jones looked rusty in his comeback game against Galatasaray but has since made two substitute appearances in the Premier League and will start alongside Chris Smalling at the back.

Buttner will deputise for Patrice Evra at left-back and the experienced trio of Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand and Robin van Persie are all set to get a night off.

Wayne Rooney will be involved while Danny Welbeck is also tipped to start, but Sir Alex Ferguson has said Nemanja Vidic is not match-fit enough to be considered for his long-awaited return.

There could be a spot on the bench for Davide Petrucci, 21, who travelled to Istanbul but did not make the bench against Galatasaray.
