Manchester United will be without injured duo Phil Jones and Nani when managerless Reading visit Old Trafford on Saturday.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed the pair will definitely miss out, but believes that Jones should start training next week, while the hamstring injury Nani suffered against Chelsea is not as serious as first feared.
"Nani came off against Chelsea but it is not serious and it will only be a couple of weeks out," he said at Friday's press conference at Carrington.
"We thought it was another bad hamstring injury but it's only a slight one. Hopefully he'll be ready for action after the Sunderland game.
"Phil Jones is not back yet, but he should start training next week. The players have done well in training this week and hopefully we'll be okay tomorrow [Saturday]."
Ferguson could make changes for the visit of the relegation-threatened Royals with Chris Smalling, Anderson and Alexander Buttner set to get chances after run-outs with the Under-21 side this week.
Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney are expected to lead the line again with Danny Welbeck an option to play in a wide role.
