Bordeaux fear they will lose out to Roma in the race to sign Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre.
The Ligue 1 runners-up are keen to take the 30-year-old left-back or central defender back to his homeland on loan, but their director, Marius Tresor, is worried that the France international will prefer a move back to Serie A with Roma.
"I am afraid the situation with Silvestre has been complicated," Tresor told RTL.
"I met him recently and he told me he had just been contacted by Roma."
He added: "Both clubs are interested in the player, but there is the risk he'll find a permanent transfer to Roma more attractive than a loan to Bordeaux."
Former Inter Milan man Silvestre missed most of United's Premier League and Champions League winning season with a knee ligament injury and only returned to action in April.
