Rooney - 'damage repaired'

Man UtdManchester United's Wayne Rooney believes his side are back on track after a disappointing start to the season.

United struggled in their opening matches but back-to-back wins against Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers have put the Red Devils back on course for a successful campaign, according to Rooney.

He said: "This was a really good result for us and I think we have repaired the damage now,

"That is four of our hardest games of the season out of the way and we are still in a decent position in the league.

"Hopefully we can go on a good run now and start climbing the table."

The English striker scored in both matches and hopes he can continue putting the ball in the back of the net for his side.

He added: "I just want to help the team really but of course, I am pleased to be back scoring goals,

"I tend to score in spurts. I have been like that throughout my career. Hopefully I can go on like that."
