Manchester United are not ready to announce the signing of Thiago Alcantara just yet but he seems almost certain to leave Barcelona.
The Spanish midfielder has been deleted from Barcelona marketing material in a further clue to his impending departure from the club and United remain strong favourites to sign him for £15million.
However, rumours that the deal could be announced at David Moyes' first official press conference as United boss on Friday appear to be premature with the club yet to arrange a medical.
The speculation over the timing of Thiago's switch will continue, but all reports coming out of Barcelona are united in their belief that he will leave the Nou Camp.
Thiago is likely to be given extra time off to join up with the club's pre-season tour a little later than the rest, alongside David de Gea, who also represented the Spain Under-21 side in Israel this summer.
That is where the talks between United officials and Thiago's representatives are believed to have largely taken place while the player led his country to victory and scored a hat-trick in the final against Italy.
