United given Pjanic hope

Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic says he is glad to linked with a move to Manchester United and is open to a possible move this summer.

The Bosnia international is believed to be on a long list of transfer targets drawn up by United boss David Moyes, who has made no secret of his desire to improve his midfield options.

Moyes tried and failed to sign Cesc Fabregas, Thiago Alcantara and Ander Herrera last summer and is now looking at other options with a view to strengthening his squad ahead of the 2014-15 season.

However, United face stiff competition for Pjanic as French champions Paris Saint-Germain have also be linked with a move, with PSG coach Laurent Blanc revealing at the weekend he wants to sign a new midfielder this month.

The 23-year-old has now responded to be speculation by admitting he is 'flattered' to be linked with two of Europe's biggest clubs, suggesting he is open to a move away from the Italian capital.

Pjanic said: "It's flattering and I am sure glad to hear that. I have become a supporter of Roma and should there be a transfer it will require that the three parties agree."
