United scouts hope to get another glimpse of Atletico Madrid starlet Oliver Torres in tonight's Europa League clash against Rubin.
Sir Alex Ferguson's brother Martin saw the 18-year-old midfield prodigy make his La Liga debut off the bench in Atletico's 2-1 defeat at Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
Torres, no relation to the ex-Atletico striker Fernando, has been playing for Atletico's B team in the third tier of Spanish football this season, but has been followed closely by the United scout.
He scored his second goal of the season in his side's 1-1 draw with Zamora at the start of February before making his debut for the Spanish Under-21 side last week.
Torres played for an hour against Belgium as part of a team that included 11 other debutants.
It is not known if United scouted that game in Mechelen but Martin Ferguson has followed the progress of Torres for over a year now and has been to see junior matches involving him at Atletico's training ground.
The chances of him featuring in tonight's Europa League clash against Rubin are in the balance but he trained with Diego Simeone's first-team squad on Wednesday and could again be named on the bench.
